Seeley Honda CB750F2 1979

Its a Seeley - a real one!

It might look like a Phil Read Replica, but it isn't - it’s a SEELEY HONDA CB750F2 with a Honda Britain bodykit.

Back in the days when Jap engines easily overwhelmed the chassis, British-made frame kits were a popular but very expensive modification….

Think Dresda, Rickman, Seeley………also the Dunstall - BUT - this used the stock frame.

Some of the not so obvious differences with a SEELEY include a patented chain adjuster system (later used by DUCATI), and a big plus - you can take the cylinder head off with the engine in the frame..!
Top quality build and welding…approximately 300 Seeley frame kits (and a few factory built complete bikes) were made.

Sublime handling and seriously raucous silencers make the bike fun-and involving- to ride.
OE Honda F2 forks /front brakes aren't quite up to the high standards of the SEELEY components but the frame is a massive improvement over the "hinge in the middle" original.
Many SEELEY frame kits were nickel plated-but this one has been black painted from new.

I looked for a Seeley Honda for nearly 20 years…. the few that I did find were either hugely priced or damaged….Seeley parts aren't that easy to find.

There is a worldwide SEELEY register of proud owners…..and Colin Seeley is still active in the classic motorcycling world today. All in all, a very rare, quality bike.
